Hands To Hearts KC, With Help From Our Friends

//Hands To Hearts KC, With Help From Our Friends

Our Zephyr Team is so thrilled to have the opportunity to make a difference in our community! We were approached by Hands to Hearts KC to help them sustain their Book Program through new portable book carts to replace their book mobile. We were so blessed to recently receive the following email thanking us for our involvement:

Zephyr team,

We got our first book cart assembled and showed it to our volunteers and I just wanted to thank you all! It is absolutely astounding. Fantastic work from everyone at Zephyr! Michael and I went to a scholastic book fair at one of our partner elementary schools last fall to research carts. I can confidently say this thing blows their carts out of the water. You guys have built something that exceeded my wildest expectations.

I cannot overstate how much this means to Hands to Hearts…. Just seeing this cart reinvigorates our volunteers and we can see a path forward. In some of the areas we serve, only 1 in 300 children have a book at home. These carts will last for years and will see thousands of books going home with children every year. I fully attribute this to your hard work and generosity!…

Once again I can’t thank you all enough. We are a volunteer-based organization so we know that even the smallest contributions can add up to something astounding. All of you at Zephyr are part of an enormous contribution!

We are excited about the impact this will have on our Kansas City community. It feels good to bless children and their families with the dignity of having their own book to read and enjoy! We believe we are all better together and are grateful for this partnership with Hands to Hearts KC, our vendors and Greater Kansas City community!

Many thanks to our vendors RYERSON www.ryerson.com and METALS USA www.metalsusa.com for donating steel material to build the carts. It truly takes all of us working together! If you would like to get involved by donating books or otherwise, contact www.handstoheartskc.org !
